Detailed Trekking Itinerary
Arrival Day: Preparation & Briefing
To ensure a smooth start to your adventure, we provide a dedicated pickup service. We will pick you up from the Gili Islands harbor, Lombok International Airport, or any other designated location in Lombok. From there, we will transfer you to your accommodation in the trekking hubs of Senaru or Sembalun. You will meet your experienced trekking guide, who will provide a thorough briefing and guidance to help you properly prepare for the journey ahead.
Day 1: The Ascent to Sembalun Crater Rim
- 06:00 AM: Wake up bright and early to enjoy a hearty breakfast at your hotel.
- 08:00 AM: Drive to the Sembalun Village (1,100m) to register at the Rinjani Information Center. We begin the trek with a gentle walk through beautiful, open savannah meadows.
- Mid-Morning: After about 2 hours of trekking, we will arrive at Post 1 (1,300m). We take a brief rest before continuing for another 40 minutes to Post 2 (1,500m).
- Lunch Break: We continue our ascent to Post 3 (1,800m) where our porter team will prepare a delicious, energizing lunch for you.
- Afternoon Ascent: Following lunch and some rest, we tackle a prolonged, steep climb taking approximately 3 hours to reach the Sembalun Crater Rim (2,639m).
- Evening: We will set up camp for the night right on the crater rim. Here, you can relax, enjoy a well-deserved dinner, and watch a spectacular sunset painting the sky over the volcanic landscape.
Day 2: The Summit Push & Descent
- 02:00 AM: Wake up under the cover of darkness. Enjoy a hot drink and a light breakfast to fuel up for the most challenging part of the trek.
- 03:00 AM: We begin our final push to the summit. The trail starts with a moderate incline, transitions into a fairly easy but long stretch, and concludes with a tough, steep climb over loose volcanic scree.
- 06:00 AM: Summit Time! Arrive at the peak of Mount Rinjani (3,726m) just in time for a glorious sunrise. Soak in the stunning panoramic views of the entire Lombok Island, neighboring Bali and Sumbawa, and the gorgeous Segara Anak Crater Lake below.
- 08:00 AM: Carefully descend back to our campsite at the Sembalun Crater Rim (approx. 2 hours) where a massive, satisfying breakfast awaits you.
- Late Morning/Afternoon: We continue our journey back down to Sembalun Village, which takes about 5 hours.
- Drop-off: Upon reaching the village, our private car will transfer you back to Senaru, and subsequently to your next destination in Lombok or the harbor.
